Not car related...unless you count the 30 trucks making deliveries.

Samsung just paid Apple...in nickels.

Kinja'd!!!

Such a dick move but hilarious at the same time. I had someone pay for their purchase using all coins once (only $13 or so) and that was annoying. I can't imagine this.

Beyond the physical improbablities, surely Apple wasn't stupid enough to not stipulate how the payment was to be carried out

Even if this were true, Apple has the right to reject such payment.

This would be a debt, not a merchant transaction. Pennies are legal tender. They would have to accept this payment, though could probably reject the delivery method and have them deliver it to a bank.

That said, i question the availability and delivery costs of a billion dollars of any paper/metal currency!

Doing some math's from info I found in the interweb's, I've determined that 1 billion in nickels would result in a volume of approximately 585,648 cubic yards. Assuming the average dump truck can hand 13 cubic yards of nickels, that would require 45,049 dump trucks. I think.

Edit: This is based on research that indicated that $1000 worth of nickels requires 1012 cubic inches.

Nope. Snopes have debunked this story specifically, though: http://www.snopes.com/politics/satir…

I thought the same thing too. Regardless of the truth and feasibility, I found it hilarious.
